FloatMessage
For businesses people walk into

Your best customers are already standing there.

They are at your table, at your till, outside your window - and most of them will never visit your website. One code, somewhere they already stop, brings them to something you control.

How it works

1

Put a code where they already stop

Beside the card reader, on the table, in the window. Anywhere somebody is standing still with a free hand.

2

It opens something you control

Your menu, your arrival instructions, your booking page, your Google review form. Editable after it is printed.

3

See which spot actually works

Scans, page opens and enquiries, per placement. The window sticker and the table tents get their own numbers.

What people use it for

Restaurants and cafes

A table tent that opens the menu. Change the menu for autumn and every tent follows, without reprinting one of them.

Holiday lets and Airbnbs

One link with the arrival steps, the wifi and the door code. The code sits behind an access code and never appears in the page itself.

Shops and salons

A counter card that opens your Google review form with the stars already up. The moment somebody is happiest is the moment they are paying.

Trades and services

A code on the invoice. They see it at home, after the job is done and they are pleased with it.

The bit nobody else does

A printed code normally tells you nothing. You put it up, and you never learn whether anybody used it.

Give each placement its own code and a month later you know: the window sticker got 240 scans and the table tents got 38, or the other way round. Then you move the one that is not working, without guessing.

Questions

Is this just a QR code generator?

The code is the part everybody gives away free. What is harder is the page it opens, the fact you can change that page after printing, and being able to see which placement earned its space. That is what this is.

What happens if I change my menu or move my page?

Nothing, as far as the printed code is concerned. It encodes a short floatmessage.com link that forwards to whichever page you point it at, so renaming a page, adding a custom domain or swapping to a seasonal menu leaves everything already printed correct.

Do I have to buy signs from you?

No. Every format downloads at 300dpi and printing your own is free and always will be. We also print proper weatherproof ones and post them, for people who would rather not.

What can you actually measure?

Scans, page opens, and enquiries through the page's form - per placement. A code that points at Google shows its scans and then stops, because we cannot see anything after that hop, and we say so rather than showing a zero.

Is anything tracked about my customers?

A country and a rough device type. No visitor id, no fingerprint, nothing identifying the person who scanned a code on a table.

Do I need a website?

No. If you have nothing, describe your business in a sentence and we will generate the page the code opens. If you already have a site, point the code at that instead.
