Team Management
Team management lets you invite teammates into a shared FloatMessage organization, assign roles, and collaborate on the same messages, chat conversations, and tickets. Available on the Enterprise plan.
Creating an organization
- Upgrade to the Enterprise plan from Dashboard → Account.
- Open Dashboard → Team.
- Click Create organization and pick a name (typically your company name).
- You become the owner automatically. Now you can invite teammates.
Each user can only belong to one organization at a time. When you create an organization you become its first member with the owner role.
Inviting members
- On the Team page, click + Invite member.
- Enter the teammate's email address and pick a role.
- Click Send invite. The invite is logged immediately as a pending member.
- The invited person signs up (or logs in) at floatmessage.com/login with the same email address.
- FloatMessage auto-links their account to the pending invite and flips their status to active. They land in your shared dashboard immediately.
You can revoke a pending or active member at any time from the Team page.
Roles & permissions
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| owner | Everything. Manage billing, delete the organization, change plan, manage all members and content. Only one owner per org. |
| admin | Manage members (invite, change role, remove), manage settings, manage all content. Cannot delete the organization or change billing. |
| editor | Create, edit, and delete messages / surveys / forms / tickets. Reply in chat. Cannot manage members or settings. |
| viewer | Read-only access. Can view dashboards, analytics, conversations, submissions, and tickets but cannot make changes. |
Member status
- pending — invited but hasn't signed up / logged in yet.
- active — signed up and currently part of the organization.
Pending invites have no expiration — they wait until the email address signs up. If a teammate signs up before you invite them, that's fine too: invite them after the fact and FloatMessage will link their existing account on the next login.
Changing roles
Owners and admins can change a member's role at any time from the Team page. Pick a new role from the dropdown next to the member's name and save. The change is effective immediately.
The owner role cannot be reassigned via the UI today — to transfer ownership, contact support.
What teammates share
Everyone in the organization works against the same data:
- Floating messages, surveys, forms, and templates.
- Live chat conversations, the visitor list, and the chat settings.
- Form submissions and survey responses.
- Tickets.
- Domain workspaces (see Domain Workspaces).
- Analytics and audit history.
Combined with domain workspaces, teams can run multiple websites side by side and split work across teammates while keeping a single source of truth for each site.
