WordPress Plugin

Install the official FloatMessage plugin to add floating messages and live chat to your WordPress site — no coding required. Works with any theme and page builder.

Installation

Option 1: Install from the WordPress.org plugin directory (recommended)

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New
  2. Search for FloatMessage
  3. Click Install Now on the FloatMessage — Live Chat & Floating Messages entry, then Activate
  4. Go to Settings → FloatMessage to connect your account

Option 2: Upload ZIP

  1. Download the plugin ZIP above
  2. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Choose the ZIP file and click Install Now
  4. Click Activate Plugin
  5. Go to Settings → FloatMessage to connect your account

Option 3: Manual Upload via FTP

  1. Unzip the downloaded file
  2. Upload the floatmessage-live-chat folder to /wp-content/plugins/
  3. Activate through the Plugins menu in WordPress
  4. Configure under Settings → FloatMessage

Configuration

After activation, go to Settings → FloatMessage. The plugin has a single configuration field:

Connect Your Account

The easiest way to set up the plugin is the Connect FloatMessage Account button on the settings page:

  1. Click Connect FloatMessage Account in the plugin settings
  2. Sign up or log in on the FloatMessage website (Google or email/password)
  3. You'll be redirected back to WordPress automatically
  4. Your User ID is saved and your WordPress domain is added to your FloatMessage dashboard

That's it — you can now create and manage messages from the FloatMessage dashboard. All active messages for your domain will automatically appear on your site.

Enabling Live Chat

  1. Go to Dashboard → Chat Settings
  2. Toggle Enable Live Chat on
  3. Configure your welcome message, AI auto-reply, and positioning
  4. The chat widget will appear on your site automatically — no changes needed in WordPress

Plan Status & Trial

Once connected, the plugin displays your current plan status directly in the WordPress settings page:

  • Pro — Active subscription with full access
  • Free Trial — Shows days remaining on your 30-day trial
  • Expired — Trial ended, messages paused until you upgrade

The plugin also shows admin notices when your trial is about to expire (7 days or less) or has already expired.

Auto-Updates

The plugin automatically checks for new versions. When an update is available, it appears in your WordPress Dashboard → Updates page alongside your other plugin updates. One click to update.
