Installation

Option 1: Upload ZIP

  1. Download the plugin ZIP above
  2. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Choose the ZIP file and click Install Now
  4. Click Activate Plugin
  5. Go to Settings → FloatMessage to configure

Option 2: Manual Upload via FTP

  1. Unzip the downloaded file
  2. Upload the floatmessage-wp folder to /wp-content/plugins/
  3. Activate through the Plugins menu in WordPress
  4. Configure under Settings → FloatMessage

Configuration

After activation, go to Settings → FloatMessage. You'll see three fields:

Finding Your Message ID

  1. Log in to floatmessage.com/dashboard
  2. In the Your Messages section, find the message you want to display
  3. Click the Copy ID button next to it
  4. Paste into the WordPress plugin settings

Enabling Live Chat

  1. Go to Dashboard → Chat Settings
  2. Toggle Enable Live Chat on
  3. Copy your User ID from the embed code shown on the page
  4. Paste into the WordPress plugin User ID field
  5. Save — the chat widget will appear on your site

Plan Status & Trial

When you enter your User ID, the plugin displays your current plan status directly in the WordPress settings page:

  • Pro — Active subscription with full access
  • Free Trial — Shows days remaining on your 30-day trial
  • Expired — Trial ended, messages paused until you upgrade

The plugin also shows admin notices when your trial is about to expire (7 days or less) or has already expired.

Auto-Updates

The plugin automatically checks for new versions. When an update is available, it appears in your WordPress Dashboard → Updates page alongside your other plugin updates. One click to update.
